About me

I am Jan Hafner.

Photography and bending light have long been my greatest fascination. Even in primary school I equipped myself with a microscope and different telescopes and binoculars, so it’s no surprise that my career led to optics and photonics.

Since earning my diploma and a master’s degree from the Technical University of Stuttgart, I’ve done practical and theoretical work in optics and photonics for more than 10 years.

I’m enormously enthusiastic about this area, convinced of its diversity and its possibilities.

We can expect future developments to make valuable and time-saving contributions to many areas of industry and manufacturing.

Optical and photonic technologies are at the core of my professional competence, and through my concrete background in the work, I am fully prepared to put these into practice.

The time has come for me to offer my experience and knowledge to industry and manufacturing—along with that of our company and our partners.

Albis Photonics GmbH was founded in 2016 with headquarters in Zürich toward this goal.
